If you have been a fan of K-pop group WINNER for a while, you’d know the group’s main rapper Song Minho, better known by his stage moniker Mino, has a penchant for eccentric fashion. Aside from donning the best clothes, Mino also has a thing for body modifications, having gotten multiple piercings and tattoos over the years. But, as it turns out, not all of them hold a special place in his heart.
Mino recently stopped by MBC Entertainment’s Radio Star show and took the chance to talk about all things tattoos, and more specifically tattoo regrets. “I wanted to become someone who has fun on stage, who plays well on stage. So I got the word ‘playboy’ on my back. [But] I’m regretting it now,” the star revealed during the show, as noted by a translation shared by AllKpop. In case you were wondering, he got the tattoo back in 2019 and it is actually placed on his lower back featuring the classic Playboy mag font. (Looking camp right in the eye!)
Mino also talked about the tattoos he actually likes, sharing he prefers words in Korean as opposed to English ones, which others might find trendier, as well as the “참! 잘했어요” stamp (or “well done!” stamp) he inked on his forearm to celebrate WINNER’s fifth anniversary.
As noted by fans on Twitter, after Mino opened up about his regrets, phrases similar to “Mino regrets his Playboy tattoo” started trending on Naver, the number one search engine in South Korea. I mean, anyone with a few tattoos has one they regret — I know I do — so add this to the list of relatable Mino moments.
In all seriousness though, if you want more of Mino’s style musings, we highly recommend watching Mino and BFF P.O’s “Mapo Hipster” show with producer Na Youngseok from 2020. An oldie but a goldie! If you want newer content, WINNER is gearing up for concerts at Seoul’s Olympic Hall on April 30 and May 1, the latter also being live-streamed online.
