Report: Buccaneers’ Godwin ruled out vs. Packers, Jones, Gage questionable

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ruled out Pro Bowl wide receiver Chris Godwin for their Week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Receivers Julio Jones and Russell Gage are considered questionable for the contest, Schefter adds.

Godwin suffered a torn ACL in the Buccaneers’ Week 15 matchup against the New Orleans Saints last season. The 26-year-old was able to suit up for Tampa Bay’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1, but exited the game during the second quarter after making a low catch and coming up limping.

Jones is dealing with a knee issue and did not participate in Wednesday or Thursday practices. Gage was a limited participant due to a hamstring injury.

Tampa Bay will also be without receiver Mike Evans because of his one-game suspension for an on-field altercation with Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore last week.

The Buccaneers have started the 2022 season 2-0 with convincing, dominant defensive wins against the Cowboys and Saints.
